FANZO Reviews: Guidelines & Standards

Purpose:

These guidelines outline the principles and rules that fans venues must adhere to when participating in FANZO’s reviews system. The goal is to ensure fairness, transparency, and trust for all users.

General Principles

1. Integrity: Reviews must be honest, accurate, and reflective of genuine experiences. Manipulation of reviews by either party is strictly prohibited.

  1. Respect: Both venues and users must maintain respectful and professional conduct. Harassment, abusive language, or discriminatory behaviour is not tolerated.
  2. Transparency: All decisions regarding reviews will be communicated clearly and fairly to both parties. Evidence and reasoning will support all review-related decisions.

User Guidelines

Content Requirements:

  1. Reviews must be based on actual experiences with the venue.
  2. Prohibited content includes:
  3. Personal attacks or defamatory statements.
  4. Naming a specific person
  5. Hate speech or discriminatory language.
  6. Irrelevant information (e.g., content unrelated to the service or product).

Accuracy:

  1. Include specific details about the experience to support the review.
  2. Avoid exaggeration or false claims.
  3. Responsibility:
  4. Ensure that reviews comply with the platform’s acceptable use policy.
  5. Refrain from posting reviews intended solely to harm a venue’s reputation.

Reporting Abusive Reviews:

Fans or Venues can report reviews they deem to be a violation of these guidelines. Reports must include clear reasons for the challenge.

Venue Guidelines

Engagement:

  1. Venues are encouraged to respond to reviews professionally and constructively. (not in first launch)
  2. Use this as user feedback to improve services.

Reporting Reviews:

  1. Reporting must include clear reasons when challenging a review.
  2. A report doesn’t have grounds when:
    • Disagreement with a user's opinion.
    • Attempts to suppress legitimate criticism.

Prohibited Behavior:

  1. Incentivise or coerce user to leave positive reviews.
  2. Create fake reviews or manipulate the review system.

FANZO's Moderation Standards

Review Evaluation:

The moderation team evaluates reviews and reports based on:

  1. Alignment with the guidelines.
  2. Supporting evidence provided by the reporting party.

Balanced Decision-Making:

  1. The platform’s goal is to balance the rights of venues and users.
  2. Decisions are based on evidence, not subjective opinions.

Prohibited Content:

  1. Reviews containing any of the following will be removed:
  2. Explicit language or hate speech.
  3. Personal attacks or defamatory content.
  4. False information intended to harm reputations.
  5. Escalation and Appeals

For Users: If a review is removed, users may receive an explanation and may appeal the decision by providing additional evidence or context.

For Venues: Venues may appeal the retention of a review by submitting additional supporting materials.

Final Review: Escalated cases will be reviewed by senior moderators, if necessary. Final decisions will be communicated within 7 business days.

Examples of Acceptable and Unacceptable Content

Acceptable User Review: “The food was excellent, and the staff were attentive. However, the waiting time for a table was longer than expected. Overall, a pleasant experience.”

Unacceptable User Review: “This place is a scam, and the owner is a thief! Avoid at all costs!”

Acceptable Venue Response: “Thank you for your feedback. We’re sorry to hear about the wait time and will work to improve this.”

Unacceptable Venue Response: “You’re lying. This never happened, and you’re just trying to ruin our business.”
